I am an advocate.
For over 19 years, I have been involving myself in grassroots training advocacy and issue based organizing.
I began my advocacy and human rights career as an intern for the American Bar Association Central European and Eurasian Law Initiative (ABA CEELI), where I assisted with the creation of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights Assessment Index.
In 2002, I partnered with the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE) on their mission to Macedonia as an election observer. In 2005 I joined the staff of Project Vote and ACORN. At ACORN and Project Vote, I gained a detailed understanding of the progressive movement and the Alinsky organizing method.
I am an informer.
In 2008, I came forward as the confidential source of the New York Times, and then publicly, to expose ACORN. You may know me as the ACORN Whistleblower. Read my “Whistle Blower Files”.
I am a political consultant.
I have spent years as a political consultant and trainer for a number of national nonprofits.
I am a humanitarian.
.I currently sit on the advisory board of “Regular Hero” and worked on the ground to provide disaster and humanitarian relief for six hurricanes over the last four years. One of my current projects is working with as many people as possible to provide clean water in Flint, Michigan.
I am an Alabama Alumni.
“Role Tide!” I grew up in Alabama where I attended the University of Alabama. I majored in political science and history. I knew I needed to fill my place in this world by studying what has come before me, so I could make a difference for what comes after me.
I am not done.
There’s no telling where the rest of my journey will lead. Thank you for being on this portion of the path with me.
